EPA CPP Repeal Protest

In late February the Environmental Protection Agency, under Scott Pruitt and President Trump, came to San Francisco. Their arrival was part of a public listening session tour of four cities across the nation, collecting opinion on the proposed repeal of the Clean Power Plan, the first piece of federal legislation put in place to limit industries’ carbon footprint. Our club showed up outside before the event to protest, and many of us students attended the event to speak and represent youth. We delivered speeches directly to the panel, about our personal climate experiences, and why we felt that the Clean Power Plan should not be repealed.

Following this, we wrote a letter addressing the EPA and expressing our views. We had over 200 students sign on with their support, many of whom added their own thoughts and experience regarding the importance of protecting our planet.
